Dr. Tanya Dugat-Wickliff,
PhD, MBA

Emerging from what most would deem insurmountable early life circumstances, Dr. Tanya, has truly "walked the talk". Now as a leader in the areas of Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Development and LEAN Process Improvement, she is passionate about Organizational Wellness and the Holistic Wellness of individuals. Dr. Tanya delivers a transformational, inspiring message of personal accountability, positive attitude and purposeful, planned action. "No excuses are allowed, success is the only option," she hopes will be the battle cry of those that she encounters. In her sessions she helps individuals and organizations to define their success vision, chart their course and immediately begin their journey armed with tools to help them achieve their goals. Her energetic, interactive presentation style comes alive when infused with anecdotal stories from her corporate career, extensive travels and personal journey from an impoverished pregnant teen to a PhD.

Dr. Tanya earned a PhD from Texas A&M University were she combined Industrial Engineering and Organizational Development to conduct research in the area of her passion – talent management and organizational effectiveness. She also has a MBA from the University of Texas-Dallas and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston. Believing that we should all reach and teach the generations that follow, Dr. Tanya is very committed to youth and young adult outreach. She is founder of a nationally recognized pre-college initiative program, FreshStart, which has served more than 1000 students since its inception. For nearly ten years, she has also run a tutoring service promoting academic excellence. With her unique approach, especially in STEM subjects, her students have consistently raised their grade point averages at least a letter grade. She is principal consultant of her own company –Dr. Tanya and Associates.

Dr. Tanya has been honored with University of Houston's Distinguished Young Engineering Alumni Award, the Black Engineer of the Year Career Achievement Award for New Emerging Leaders and featured in several publications. She has presented keynote addresses, facilitated workshops and given motivational presentations at numerous civic and corporate forums domestically and internationally. She is a contributing author to Tavis Smiley's book, "Keeping the Faith", with her inspiring life story. She believes that her life's calling and thus career quest is to be a catalyst of significant, positive change and growth for individuals and entities. However, through it all Dr. Tanya gives top priority to her relationship with God, her husband Oscar Smith and her three sons – Jamar Dugat, Raymond Wickliff and Cortlan Wickliff.
